The overtocht Krabi Koh Phi Phi is one of the most beautiful ways of getting to the islands. Leaving from Krabi town, Ao Nang Beach of Koh Lanta, you cruise out to one of Thailand's most famous and beautiful island groups, home to the magnificent Maya Bay and Phi Phi Ley.

The overtocht Krabi Koh Phi Phi covers a stretch of water in the southern end of the Phang Nga Bay where every view is cluttered with small islands and outlying rocks. From November to the end of April the seas are clam with a north easterly light wind giving flat seas and plain sailing. The speeding ferries glide over the glassy water, which is a sandy green near the Krabi coast line and a deep blue with it's oceans depth out at Phi Phi. In low season from May until October the weather can be variable with the winds coming from the Indian Ocean to the west. See more on Phi Phi weather.

Ferries run all year round except for Koh Lanta Phi Phi which runs in high season only. To get from Koh Lanta to Phi Phi in low season you need to take a bus onto the mainland and then north on the main Krabi Hat Yai Highway.

Overtocht Krabi Koh Phi Phi

The main overtocht Krabi Koh Phi Phi from Krabi town leaves from Klong Jilad Pier. This pier is set in a maze of the natural mangrove forest with the towering Phrang Nga cliffs to the north. This ferry route goes twice a day to Phi Phi past the Chicken and Bamboo Island. The first resorts you see on Phi Phi don are the luxury 5 and 4 star Zeavola Phi Phi Resort, Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island and the Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort and Spa (previously Phi Phi Island Village Resort And Spa).

Overtocht Ao Nang Krabi Koh Phi Phi

The overtocht Ao Nang Krabi Koh Phi Phi is a little different from the Klong Jilad Pier departure. Further north than Krabi town are the resort locations of Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Noppharat Thara, and the Railay beaches. The one time a day ferry takes you from the Noppharat Thara pier stopping at the Railay Beaches before heading out for Phi Phi. This glorious overtocht is one of Thailand's finest taking in the beauty of Phrang Nga, the 2,300m Khao Phanom Bencha mountain range and or course the impressive cliffs of Phi Phi Tonsai Bay. The 08.30 am ferry returns from Phi Phi at 15.30pm.

Overtocht Koh Lanta Koh Phi Phi

The overtocht Koh Lanta Koh Phi Phi strikes out from Saladan pier on the northern edge of the island and heads out to the silhouette of the craggy Phi Phi Ley and Phi Phi don just over the horizon. This seasonal ferry trip is the shortest distance to Phi Phi from Krabi Province and is just 1 Hour and 15 minutes compared to 1 Hour and 30 minutes from Krabi. As a remote island, all resorts send their mini buses from the resort out to the pier for the daily departure.
