Cheap travel from Bangkok to Phi Phi by plane

The main Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok is where the majority of inbound flights to Thailand arrive. This modern facility takes in flights from all over the world and is one of the key hubs of South East Asia.

From here the domestic flights depart Bangkok to Phuket with Thai Air, the national carrier, Bangkok Air, Nok Air, Oriental Thai, and Air Asia. Phuket is wonderfully served from Bangkok with 13 flights (high season) alone with Thai Air compared to the Krabi International Airport which has only 4 Thai Air flights a day. The cheap prices tend to be with Bangkok Air, Nok Air, Oriental Thai, Air Asia and their cheap deals vary by high and low season and these change every year.

From Phuket airport you can book a transfer to Phi Phi which includes a mini bus down to Rasada Pier and the ferry out to Phi Phi.

Cheap travel from Bangkok to Phi Phi by train is not an obvious route as the railway network doesn’t go as far as Krabi or Phuket Provinces those provinces nearest Phi Phi from Bangkok. The route takes you from Bangkok (Hualamphong) at 08.05 and gets yout to Krabi at 21.10 in the evening with an overnight stay in aKrabi hotel or a 19.30 depart Bangkok and arrive 11.00 am in the morning to get the early afternoon ferries to Phi Phi. The prices vary depending on the class of carriage with First Class 1,539 THB per person and the second class sleeper 968 THB per person. These trains are very comfortable and a neat way of seeing a bit of the countryside.

Cheap travel from Bangkok to Phi Phi by bus

Cheap travel from Bangkok to Phi Phi by bus is the best way to get to the islands. There are standard buses all the way though to VIP buses. The normal government buses get you to Koh Gao bus station just a few minutes outside Krabi town whereas the tourist buses take you to the pier directly.

The 1st class (VIP) air-conditioned bus 24 Seats departs Bangkok 19.00, takes 12 hours to Krabi and costs 921THB. The 2nd class air-conditioned bus 50 Seats departs Bangkok 20.00, takes 12 hours to Krabi and costs 592THB. The 2nd class air-conditioned bus 50 Seats departs Bangkok 18.30, takes 12 hours to Krabi and costs 565THB. After a short time you can hop on the morning ferry to Phi Phi.
