Maya Bay. This extraordinary Bay on the west side of Phi Phi Ley is world famous for it's exquisite beach and truly picture postcard perfect scenery of jungle covered cliffs. The coral and the huge submerged boulders near the mouth of the bay excites the diving world and is most popular for snorkeling.
The Movie "The Beach" Leonardo Di Caprio the famous Hollywood super star came and shot the movie "The Beach" using Loh Samah and Maya bay as the back drop for this tale of a young man's desire to find meaning in the travel scene of South East Asia. Though not widely acclaimed this Phi Phi movie highlighted to a world stage the magnificence of Phi Phi Maya Bay.
Diving. There is no doubt that many only come for some of the best Thailand diving in the teaming warm waters around the famous dive sites of Koh Bida, Hin Muang, Phi Phi Ley, and shark point. As dive sites can be reached within 10 minutes from the pier so it is no surprise there are many excellent PADI dive schools on the island.
Cabana Bungalows in 1987. If you came to Phi Phi Island in 1980's you would remember arriving by longtail boat and seeing the thatched rustic Cabana Bungalows commanding an awe inspiring view of Tonsai bay. Reggae Bar. Phi Phi Nightlife surprises many with how much fun is had either at the beach, resort or out in the village. One institution not to be missed is the Phi Phi Reggae Bar which is a whole lot of fun and appeared as the back drop for another movie the irreverent "Dirty Sanchez" set in the Thai Boxing ring.
