Phi Phi underwater life is some of the more extraordinary in the Andaman seas of southern Thailand and diving on Phi Phi is world-famous for it.
The huge variation of species of fish derives from the unique underwater habitats around Phi Phi island.
The huge cliffs of Phi Phi Ley and Phi Phi Don cast dark shadows for half the day and have left dramatic underwater scenery as boulders the size of houses have been strewn over the sea bed. This gives rise to the perfect environment for millions of the smaller species to hide from their predators.
The open reefs of Bamboo island and Rantee Bay on Phi Phi Don do not have the same variations but are more accessible.
