I'll be in Thailand about April till June and was wondering if there are any beaches where nude swimming is tolerated. I heard that a few years ago there was a beach on Koh Phangan, does anyone really know the situation these days?

Yep, also there is a nude street in Bangkok called Sukhumvit road. You can casually walk up and down it naked if going outside naked is your thing.

If you yourself want to go naked on a beach, I'm sure you can get a boat to take you to one of Thailands many many deserted beaches where you can strip without offending anyone.

If you want to ogle nudie people though, you're gonna have to pay for it like everyone else...

Try Leela Beach on Phangan, where certainly people were going nude 4 years ago. But this is a reasonably public beach, why offend any locals?

There are heaps of places in Thailand where you can go nude without the presence of locals - I have seen nudists on the south coast of Koh Muk east of Ao Khao bungalows, several beaches and rock areas on Koh Lipe, on the east coast of Phi Phi Island at Loh Modee and also on Mosquito Island (or maybe Bamboo, I get them mixed up) just north.

where is Leela Beach?

have not been there myself, but this is what Google says:

Had Seekantang, also known as Had Leela, is located on the western tip of the Had Rin peninsula, about 15 minutes walk from the town centre.

It is a long white sand beach that is fairly thin in places and has a rugged appeal. There are mangrove trees dotted along the coastline and several old and new resorts are set back in the palms.

Due to its secluded location, the beach was popular with nudists in the early days, and the Rajneesh Cult used to own it.

There is still bit of the old Phan Ngan vibe in some of the bungalow resorts and you can get far away from the maddening crowd in Had Rin, whilst still being able to pop in for a midnight visit to 7-Eleven.

The bay is a bit rocky in places, and the coral reef that lays along the southern facing coast of the island starts here, thus in low tidal season (April to November) swimming on the beach side of the reef is not always possible, the sea can also be rough if the winds get up.

I was at HAD THIEN iin March 08 which is the beach for nudism on Koh Phangan. It's very easy going cool and relaxed. Have fun.

There is a beach on Ko Chang called Long Beach, it's about an hour drive from civilisation and only accesible by 4x4 or motorbike. There's a nice guesthouse called Treehouse (not to be mistaken with Treehouse on Lonely Beach, also on Ko Chang) who will pick you up on demand. It's definately the nicest beach on the island and most guests go there because of the privacy it offers.
