Just added a few more images to my collection for rooms on PP and so will shortly be sharing with you on what is new. I also got a few new vdo s to add a bit more depth to the process. Clear in the morning and then it clouds up and often rains in the afternoon. It's worse in in Phuket where the mountains stir up the rain clouds almost every day. This is definately unsettled for this time of year when you would normally expect to have switched into High season, still... 30 degrees is just fine by me. I was going on the Maya bay Camping but managed instead to get a room in the PP Palmtree resort..... very nice. After last night down at the Reggae bar and Irish bar it's been a very slow day. BANGKOK: -- Yesterday 44 areas in Bangkok are badly effected by flooding due to the capital’s inadequate drainage system. So consider if you need to travel through Bangkok in the next coouple of days. Most of the flooded areas have returned to normal (Forty-two flooding spots)on Monday but the Ratchada-Ladprao intersection and Pongpetch Market are still an issue as of 11am Monday. Drainage and Sewerage Department Director Charnchai Witoonpanyakij said 'flooding in inner Bangkok could normally be solved within two hours, but Sunday’s rainfall took more time for drainage in some areas located far from the river.' There are seven drainage tunnels in the capitaland the department plans to build another from Bang Sue district to the Chao Phraya River. This will be open to private sector bidding later this year and has a budget of around Bt2 billion. The Meteorological Department has asked the public to be careful of heavy rains in many areas nationwide. The Gulf of Siam and the Andaman Sea are expected to have 2-3 metres high waves in the next few days. More whale shark sitings on Phi Phi ley. Palong wall is rarely in any kind of condition for diving but Hippo divers saw a whale shark 2 days ago. You have got to say that Lanah bay on Phi Phi is fantastic, world class. Very few people get to this part of Phi Phi even though it is only about 3 km from the main beach! I think this is one of Phi Phi Island's better secrets and you can get their from the Phi Phi lagoon Resort which is only 10 minutes walk away.   Scorchio It's hot and sunny and my tan is fully topped up! I have taken the rythum of Phi Phi Life to the max. An easy brunch at the patisserie in the village, afternoon cocktails in front of the hippies bar followed by big nights on the beach having a blast.  I did a half day sunset tour of Phi Phi ley with Adam and Dave last week and the weather on Phi Phi was good though there were clouds at sunset and the boat just chugged home without the brilliance.  It's gone a bit quieter this last few days with almost nobody on the main beaches. It's that quieter time before the high season on Phi Phi when there can be almost nobody around and then at night every body meets up at one or other bar and the place is packed. Everybody has gathered my magic in one place. I like these nights more than high season nights as you get to see all the local divers and the divers returning to work.  When it's perfect it's near perfect. We took a longtail boat to near the Viking cave and had some fun on the rocks just to the north of it. Rainfall on Phi Phi Island can be a valid concern at the moment, as it is time of the southwest monsoon and rainfall pattern between Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi can differ wildly. If you are worried about rainfall in the last 24 hours on Phi Phi Island, than the image below is the right resource for you.
