Less people on the island as people start to head off for the
Full moon party on Koh Phangan. The weather still fine, the velvet dojo the place packed this low season.

I have just got off the phone, speaking to friends on PP island. John at the PP scuba told me how busy the island was right now and the island is in general.
All the
diving trips that he had, had gone out on schedule as the weather had been perfect... though it's been a bit windy in the last couple of days.
Kung told me how own usually wet it was a few days ago when it rained every night for five or six days.
Still the weather is perfect right now :)

I took the
ferry out this morning to Phi Phi don from Phuket and they took the usual tour, for the one day tour of Phi Phi, round the southern tip of Phi Phi Ley to look at a Maya and Loh Samah and Viking cave. This picture is of
Bida islands just off Phi Phi ley and these are the main dive sites.

I ate at Cosmic last night and PP is busy again. It looks like high season has arrived again... you would n't know there was so much talk about recession and all that in the western world..

The weather has been a bit changeable in the last few days.
There has been some strong winds from the tail end of a cyclone thousands of miles away in the Philippines and this has given waves on the ferries and some rainy days.
The island was busy before the Full Moon party in koh Phangan but became alot quieter on about the 14th.

speed boats on Phi Phi are the way to travel.
You can see much more of the island as your drive time is cut to nothing. A 6 hour longtail boat trip can be completed in 3.5 hours and you still spend the same time in the water snorkeling or on the beaches.
Cloudy at first then brightened up by the time we got back from the trip.

I stayed at the
Anita resort and this was a great place to hang out just 40 meters from the beach.

Clouding up in the morning and stayed that way most of the day. I went over to Phi Phi Ley and the weather wasn't any different their. We did a dive at Bida and then went over to Loh Samah for lunch. I havn't dived for ages but the visibility was very variable. In some places up to 15m and more and a couple of moments down to 8m-12m.

I went up to the Hippies bar for sunset this afternoon to chill with the others on the beach near Phi Phi Villa resort. The quality of air is so good when the sun does come out every sunset when the cloud clears is truly magnificent.
You got to compare it with a ropey old morning when it was dull and cloudy down at the Phi Phi Pier.
