ko phi phi is often used by people travelling down to the southern islands as the starting point or by finishing point of their island adventures in the Indian Ocean. Lipe islands is known for its laid back old style bungalows on the beach so very common 20 years ago in places like PP Island or Phuket.

phi phi villa resort

I like the PP villa resort for its location down on the beach it's cool pool and its smart bungalows by the pool.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and things haven't changed which is what I like about the place. Before they had to be carpe Diem bar and restaurant and although that lazy easy going bar has changed names the place is just the same. I often go there when I want to relax and just chill out in front of the sea.

Palong , Phi Phi ley and Unni's

It’s a pretty time on Phi Phi island. The cooler north east winds bring down dry and clear weather making today’s hot and sunny, but not so hot that it’s it is uncomfortable.

I went to Unni’s last night and had a wonderful steak sitting outside on the terrace watching the holiday makers go by. This is the time of year I like most and it is a time when some of the trees loose their leaves similar to the autumn look in Europe. On the cliffs of Phi Phi Don you can often see the yellows Browns and reds or some colors. This is also the start of the dry season and so some trees to not go green and till the first showers which are often in late march or April.

full and hot; phi phi island

On another hot day in Thailand and here on Phi Phi it is as much as I feel comfortable to walk across the market to buy a cheap coke in the local store. Phi phi Hotels were full again yesterday and many of the people walking around at the end of the day were haggling with the touts over the best price for very simple guesthouse accommodation.

Dudes hanging out on Phi Phi Island?

x

Are these dudes hanging out on Phi Phi Island? Well yes and no. They are a couple of the guys who have longtail boats and will sit down by the peer and ask you if you need a taxi ride to Long Beach or ask whether you want to go on a trip to Phi Phi Ley, or Maya bay. Friendly and easygoing, these guys have quite limited English. These guys love to act like they own the town!

Today was another lazy and easygoing day on Phi Phi island and in spite of all the troubles at the Bangkok Airport, nothing in these guy’s life have changed one iota.

The weather is just fine....

continuing issues at the Bangkok airports

It's still busy at the moment on Phi Phi Island with people in the travel agents helping people asking how to get to bangkok without flying, how to change flight details. The closure of the Bangkok airports may come to a head on Wednesday when the government disbands the political parties and so ending the dead lock..

it's still tense at the airports in bangkok and tourist have been majorly inconvenienced if their flight has been canceled from Bangkok. The trains from the south are full up to Bangkok and the buses are filling.

The travel industry is working very hard to overcome the travelers hardships and the airport at U Tapao in Pattaya is being used for some international flights as it is only 2 hours down the road from Bangkok.
